"Tam Glow," probably 'Jaune Desprez'

I tried to identify a climber located near Tam Junction on Highway 1 in Mill Valley that I temporarily named "Tam Glow." One possible identification is'Jaune Desprez.' Sadly, my plant of 'Jaune Desprez' is not nearly as fine a clone. I was leaning toward a noisette if it rebloomed, a rambler if it did not. The owner of the building subsequently cut the rose down to 18 inches and then removed it. Lesson learned: never wait to collect cuttings. All heritage roses are in danger of destruction at all times.

Tam Glow's most distinctive qualities were:

Climbing habit, about 15 feet tall, 12 feet wide, with enough vigor to live in a 12" wide strip of dirt next to the electric meter in the asphalt parking lot. The parking lot floods every winter in the January flood tides. "Tam Glow" grows against a west-facing wall and receives no afternoon sun. Climbs
Nodding blooms with distinctive button eye Nods
Small, light pink buds washed with darker pink
Flowers open more pink
Flowers fade to buff
Overall impression of buff with a warmer pink glow. Sulfur yellow at base of petals.

Scent is not tea-like but rather noisette-like, sweet. 80+ petals, counting petaloids. Lots of sulfur yellow in the petals once removed. Sepals mostly smooth with a single tiny fringe on 2 of the 5. Rather small receptacle, only about 1.5 cm tall, .75 cm wide.

Prickles are small, down-curved. Apple green foliage, tender. 3 and 5-leaf leaflets, no 7's. Terminal leaf much larger than the other 4. One or two tiny prickles on the back of the petiole. Rather small stipules, no fringes on the sides.
